Overview
The University of Arizona Microcampus Conference 2023, held in Jakarta, and co-hosted by our Indonesian partner Sampoerna University, will bring leaders from our partner universities around the world together to help advance the unique microcampus educational model and provide a platform to exchange information on best teaching practices, student recruitment and success, and overcoming cultural barriers to international education.
The Inspiration
Traditional batik design originated in Java, Indonesia, with the word "batik" itself deriving from the Javanese words amba ("to write") and tik ("dot").
The batik-inspired design is an interpretation of traditional Indonesian textile patterns, blending digital precision with cultural motifs. The pattern uses geometric symmetry and clean vector lines rather than the organic wax-resist look of traditional batik.
